So this was it. His first day of class in college.

Makoto doesn't remember being this nervous since elementary school.

It's not that he hadn't seen it coming, really. He was in Sendai, the big city, far away from Iwatobi, far away from Haru, who had gone to Tokyo. It made perfect sense for him to be nervous, and rationally, he knew he was probably far from the only one to be in that situation.

It didn't make things any easier, of course, but... Well, it was still some comfort, right? Right.

Still... He couldn't help but be a little amused that after so long taking care of Haru, he was now the one that could use some help. But first days of class weren't too eventful, usually, so Makoto was just looking at the day as a step to easy himself into things. So, using that to steel himself, he walks into the main building and takes a look at his schedule. For now, most of his classes were entry-level courses that weren't really necessarily to completing his major, and his first class was no exception.

Of course it had to be English. With a sigh, he approaches a security officer to ask where the room was. It wasn't hard to find it, thankfully. By the time he gets there, the teacher hasn't arrived yet, so most students that are there were lounging around in their seats. After a brief hesitation, Makoto takes a seat near a window, in the middle row of seats. The classroom is arranged as sort of a mini lecture hall, with five long tables going from one end of the classroom to the other, leaving only just enough room to pass behind and on the sides.

Miyagi is nice.

It isn't as thought Reo has never spent time outside a city before, so he knew in general terms what to expect, and this is pretty much it. It's quieter, the air tastes different, and the scenery is far more attractive. Those are all qualities of which Reo approves, and for a vacation spot, would find ideal.

Still, he can't help but evaluate his surroundings more critically than he would if he were on vacation. He might well end up voluntarily living here for months at a time over the next two years, after all.

So. Miyagi is nice.

And that's all the thought he needs to give it for now, as he's arrived a few minutes early for his tour. Karasuno's campus is miniscule compared to what Rakuzan was, but that was only to be expected, and he finds that he likes the looks of it. Rakuzan had an air of grandeur to maintain, deliberately designed to draw in the right sort of people and intimidate the wrong sort; Karasuno is more inviting, small and clean and ready for any students who happen to find themselves on its grounds.

Reo likes that a lot. Whatever negatives about Karasuno he encounters today, he doesn't think he's going to find them in the school itself.
